So, have you heard of Radiant Cosmetics?

I just cannot say enough great things about this company.

Here are five reasons why I love this company:

1.  They donate a minimum of 20% of the profits from each purchase to organizations fighting against human trafficking.  And....their desire is that as their company grows they would be able to give more physically, financially, and spiritually to this fight.

2.  Their products are made here in the USA slave-free.  Now that would make no sense to have a company working to fight human trafficking that was selling products made by slaves.  They are currently working on making sure every single ingredient that goes into their products is certified.  They already have lots of paperwork certifying that their labor is fair and many of their ingredients, especially mica, come from a fair and ethical source.  (Mica is used in most cosmetics and most times is mined by children in slave labor situations).

3.  They are a for-profit company.  Non-profits are definitely not the only way to go...especially when it comes to bringing lasting change to this world.  Everyone doesn't need to quit their day job and join or start a non-profit to change the world.  We should use our jobs, our skills, our passions to impact the world around us....and yes, that most definitely includes our workplaces.

4.  They are not just a pretty face.  They are not your typical cosmetics company.  They are "beauty with a purpose".  They believe that through ordinary purchases a difference can made in the world. 

5. For the month of January, Human Trafficking Awareness Month, they are matching every lipstick you buy as part of their "Kiss Slavery Goodbye" campaign to shine a light on this atrocity. For each lipstick that you purchase this month, they will donate a lipstick on your behalf to a woman who is a survivor of trafficking or a current victim. These lipsticks will be distributed by partner organizations in Austin and in Brazil. Now you may be thinking..."how in the world is a lipstick going to do anything toward solving this problem?" While it can't completely solve this huge problem, it can actually do a lot. For many of these women it is an in-road, a conversation starter. Many have never been given a gift before...and it's a gift that makes them feel special and beautiful. Many may ask why someone cares enough to give them a gift and that is a perfect oppotunity to share that they do have people who care for them....that there is a way out....that there is a better life waiting for them....that there is hope. A tube of lipstick can do way more than you think.  So, join in and help kiss slavery goodbye!!
