paper crafts

I first had the idea for some of these crafts while visiting my friend in Portland last year.  We were exploring some of the funky gift shops and clothing boutiques when I saw a great window display.  They had decorated the space with cut-outs of various shapes from sheet music.  I decided to make some designs of my own from copies of old hymns.

Here is a framed piece that a made as a gift for a friend.  I used pieces of scrapbook paper for the background and branches and cut out bird shapes from copies of hymns.  Then I wrote out a favorite Scripture and added it in the corner.

                                 Some fun stationery

A piece that I made for myself.  This time I made some of the leaves from the hymn paper.
