what is your dream?

On this day 50 years ago Martin Luther King, Jr delivered his famous "I have a dream" speech during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.  He dreamed of a world of equality and opportunity.  He was a man who wanted to see injustices done away with.  He stood up for what he believed was right and spoke up against the wrong that he saw.  He dared to dream big dreams and trusted in a God who was big enough to bring it all about.  He never lived to see the fulfillment of some of his dreams.  Some of his dream has been realized today, and yet there is still a long way to go.  

 

There is still much poverty, oppression, and injustice in the world today.  There is also a lot of hope, beauty, love, and redemption out there.  I choose to focus on that.  To not get overwhelmed and paralyzed by fear over all that is wrong with the world.  I choose to see the injustice and oppression, and step out in faith and DO something.  To dream big.  To trust in a God who is big enough to overcome it.  

 

Through Noonday Collection, I have become a part of a community of women who have that same heart.  They are a group of women who like to dream big dreams.  They see poverty and oppression and refuse to accept it as "just the way things are".  They desire to "loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?"  (Isaiah 58:6).  They are a passionate and loving group of women who encourage me daily to not sit idly by doing nothing but to jump right in and get involved.  

 

Today was the launch of our fall/winter 2013 collection, and I thought it was so fitting that it fell on the anniversary of such a momentous day in our nation's history.  I love being part of a company that is so passionate about seeing everyone have access to jobs and freedom both in our own country and all around the world.  To celebrate our fall launch, from now until the end of September a different Noonday ambassador will be hosting a blog giveaway each day and sharing a little of her heart. That's 34 giveaways in 34 days!  Fun!
